Telstra testing faster NextG
Telstra and its mobile network supplier Ericsson have recently finished trials of the enhanced High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) technology, which will give it the ability to support downstream speeds of up to 42Mbps. Speeds for the upgrade are expected to reach 21Mbps later this year, with Telstra aiming to double this by 2009. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database Telstra is aiming to eventually migrate all existing CDMA mobile customers to its NextG network.
