Turkey reduced the interconnection fee for mobile telecommunications by 35 percent, Tayfun Acarer, chairman of Turkey's telecommunications regulator, told CNBC-e television.

The regulator reduced the fee that phone companies charge each other for calls that pass between their networks, by 35 percent, Acarer added.

Mobile-phone users will benefit from as much as a 10 percent decline in their May and June phone bills, Acarer said, adding the regulator plans annual reductions in the fee.
