[zawya] People here want Vodafone Qatar to live up to its international reputation by introducing the kind of services it is known for in several countries across the globe, the findings of a survey conducted by Al Sharq reveal.
They are looking up to the company to bring the costs of communications services down and emerge as a viable alternative in case global cable networks are damaged for some reason.
Some 51 percent of those interviewed said they were not satisfied with the services provided by Vodafone Qatar and hoped that it would soon make a foray into wireless communications business.
Only 37 percent of respondents said they were content with the services of the company while 12 percent said they were undecided. The findings of the survey were conveyed to the public relations department of Vodafone Qatar and its officials said that although they were new to the country, they were making the difference.
"We are sure that no company (rival) can match the kind of services that we are planning to offer in the near future," the daily quoted an official of Vodafone Qatar as saying.
The company said a surprise announcement is to be made tomorrow and that a slew of offers were also in the pipeline. "Our focus will be on ensuring quality of services and cost-cutting."
Customer satisfaction is the company's ultimate goal. According to Vodafone, they launched their services in March this year and 1,000 customers were chosen to introduce the services on an experimental basis. This helped the company identify its weaknesses and strengths as also find out in which areas of the country their services were doing well.
Other 10,000 customers were registered after April and this month the services were made available to the public at large.
"We are planning to open more outlets in different parts of the country," the company official said.
