Skanska recovers redundant underground cables for BT in the UK

Swedish construction group Skanska said on Monday (11 August) that it has landed a GBP76.5m contract from British Telecommunications Plc (BT) in the UK.

The contract, awarded by BT's Openreach division, covers recovery of redundant underground cables in the Openreach Network in the North and Scotland Regions.

The work involves the extraction of 51,000 tonnes of cable over a three-year period, Skanska said.

Skanska, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is one of the world's leading construction groups with operations in Europe, the US and Latin America.
