Afghan Wireless Honored by Afghan Senate and Parliament

[prnewswire] The Senate and the Parliament have both, on separate recent occasions, singled out Afghan Wireless Communication Company (Afghan Wireless) for special recognition for its service to Afghanistan.

Recognition from the Afghan National Assembly is the highest honor possible in Afghanistan for a private corporation.

Mr. Amin Ramin, Managing Director of Afghan Wireless, humbly accepted the Award of Certificate of Recognition from the Head of the Meshrano Jerga (Senate) of Afghanistan's National Assembly, Professor Hazrat Sebghatullah Mujaddedi, on December 20, 2009. Mr. Ramin also accepted the Award of Certificate of Recognition from the Head of the Wolesi Jerga (Lower House) of Afghanistan's National Assembly, Muhammad Younes Qanooni, on January 20, 2010.

In 2002, Chairman Ehsan Bayat launched the Afghan Wireless, the first wireless service and Internet service provider in Afghanistan. Now, Afghan Wireless brings GSM and Internet communications to all of Afghanistan's 34 Provinces and over 10,000 towns and villages. The company employs approximately 4,000 Afghans while also indirectly impacting millions of Afghans through its mobile connections, allowing Afghanistan to communicate, conduct business, and stay connected through its state-of-the-art digital calling network.
