The migration to NC computing will drive an explosive growth in data traffic

[bluematrix] The report revisits our long held themes of Network-Centric (NC) computing and horizontal segmentation. We believe that NC computing is driven by the separation of wireless networks and applications, as best exemplified by the Apple iPhone. The migration to NC computing will drive an explosive growth in data traffic and eventually lead to the break up of vertically integrated service providers along
horizontal lines. In our view, carriers will take multiple steps to retain control (e.g., keep handsets fragmented, support open systems) to ensure no one supplier
creates the NC computing OS. We view Near term, tower companies and backhaul
providers will benefit from wireless data traffic growth.
