UK - Survey of family holidays shows high levels of concern over roaming charges #

[prweb] As the summer holiday season gets into full swing, Post Office Travel Money's new Family Holiday Report reveals many parents are concerned about getting their money's worth while abroad, particularly when using travel credit cards and debit cards.

Hefty mobile phone roaming rates were named the top 'rip off' by 56 per cent of parents, closely followed by charges for using a debit or travel credit card (52 per cent) while on a family holiday.

Additional research from the Post Office reveals that many UK tourists may not be taking enough cash with them to cover holiday costs, making them further reliant on their debit and travel credit cards while away. The Post Office is advising holidaymakers to ensure they get the most from their cash by looking for good deals on their travel credit cards before setting off.

As well as being one of few travel credit card providers to offer 0% commission on overseas purchases, the Post Office is helping its travel credit card customers to save money this summer by waiving the 2.5% cash advance fee when customers use its travel credit card to purchase foreign currency through the Post Office.

This new benefit joins a range of advantages already on offer to the Post Office's travel credit card customers, in addition to 0% on balance transfers for the first 12 months and 0% on new purchases for the first three months.
