Tunisia - Minister to follow Presidential guidance on reforms

[tunisia online news] Mr. Oussama Romdhani, the Communication Minister chaired on Monday, at the premises of his department, a working session devoted to the follow-up of the measures and decisions announced by President Ben Ali in his address on the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the November 7 Change relating to the information and communication sector.

The Minister voiced his satisfaction at at the pioneering provisions and decisions included in the President Ben Ali's keynote speech which are likely to further promote the national media landscape, saying that these decisions are in line with a coherent approach whose aim is to develop political, economic, social and cultural life.

He also stressed the strategic position held by the information sector in President Ben Ali's civilisational project and the important role devolving on the media community in preserving the country's gains and making national choices better known.

The Minister called on the sector professionals to make further efforts to be up to the trust placed in them.

The meeting, attended by members of the national press, was an opportunity to look at the practical aspects of the new presidential measures to provide them with all the conditions of success.
