[jlm pacific epoch] The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will lower cross-network settlement fees for local fixed-line calls effective June 1, Sina reports. The new standard requires telecom operators to pay RMB 0.06 per minute to the carrier that serves the call recipient when their users make out-of-network, local fixed-fixed line calls, according to an MIIT announcement released May 12. The current payment standard is RMB 0.15 per minute, reports Sina.
