Newly appointed staff of the Telecommunications Regulatory Board, dubbed, ART have been told to redouble their efforts and stimulate actions that will spur efficiency at the company. The Director General of ART, Jean-Louis Beh Mengue made the statement last Friday in Yaounde while installing appointed personnel including technical advisers, directors and chief of services in different departments such as finance, communication, technical, marketing, licence and interconnection department, regional delegations as well as the management of frequencies.

Jean-Louis Beh Mengue likened the appointment to a new-performance contract the workers have signed with the government and the company. While telling the newly appointed that their success will depend on team work, professionalism and fore-sightness, Beh Mengue warned them not to abuse their authority as this will be synonymous with crumbling the company. However, the Director General rejoiced that with the professional background and experience of the appointed officials, success could be easy to come-by.

Coming on the heels of evolutions in the telecommunication sectors in the country, like elsewhere, ART General Manager enjoined his staff to ensure the control of telecom operation/interconnection, the national coverage of telecoms and the quality of services offered to the public, elaborate and ensure the application of texts regulating the telecom sector as well as elaborating the strategic plan for the institution.
