IsatPhone Pro phone enables business without boundaries and enhances user experience with its innovative applications. In addition to offering this product in these war-affected regions, SingTel will offer the handset in emerging markets, such as Cambodia and Vietnam, as well as through its network of 37 offices in 20 countries throughout the Asia Pacific, Europe and the United States.

High-risk and remote areas

The user-friendly IsatPhone Pro will be available in June 2010, and can provide a vital communications lifeline in dangerous situations for media, military, government and humanitarian organisations working in high-risk and remote areas.

According to SingTel, the device is also targeted for the maritime, oil and gas, mining and construction industries. The IsatPhone Pro is shock resistant and can be used in extreme weather conditions and temperatures between -20 deg C to 55 deg C.

The IsatPhone Pro features a rugged design and advanced features, and Bill Chang, SingTel's executive vice president of business group, noted that it has attracted tremendous interest from customers in the region.

Chang said the company is confident that the handset will be a runaway success and has begun to receive advance orders for it as early as six months before its official launch.
