Nigeria - NATCOMS calls for the mobile price cap to be set at N20 per minute

[daily trust] The National Association of Telecoms Subscribers of Nigeria (NATCOMS) says the proposed telecoms price cap should be fixed at N20.

In an interview with Daily Trust yesterday, the president of NATCOMS, Chief Deolu Ogunbanjo said it is only when the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) reduced the Price Cap to N20 per minute that the impact would be felt on the masses.

According to Ogunbanjo, telecoms operators have long long been taken subscribers for a ride for their tariffs over the years.

He said SMS ought to have been free in the country as some African countries are now enjoying free SMS.
