China: reached 830,000 subscribers of TS-SCDMA, the Chinese version of 3G

[JLM Pacific Epoch] China had recorded 830,000 TD-SCDMA subscribers by May 4, reports Information Times quoting MIIT Vice Minister Lou Qinjian. The nation added 10.55 million mobile subscribers in March and more than 10 million in February this year, reports Sohu quoting Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Vice Minister Xi Guohua at a conference May 18. Mobile subscribers accounted for 66.7% of all telephone users in China by the end of March, Xi said.

China's three telecom operators will invest a total of RMB 400 billion in 3G services within the next three years, while 3G subscribers will use services worth RMB 100-200 billion, said Xi.
